Progress on Bulgogi Punks Phrase 3
Pictured below are a few panels I’ve shared on Instagram and on the Webtoons app + me working on some panels while on a vacation. This past month was rather busy in my personal and work life, but I did my best to work on art whenever I had the time.
I’m currently a third of the way through Phrase 3. With the summer shop drop on the horizon, time will certainly still be allocated to the comic, but I anticipate a July/August release, rather than a June release. As always, I’ll be giving weekly updates on the Webtoons app and continuous updates on my Instagram!Summer Shop Drop Prep
The next shop drop is scheduled for… Friday, June 27! ☀ And I’ll be taking orders for two weeks, until Friday, July 11.This month’s prep work included:Taking product photosCreating every product pageFilming B-roll and product highlights for social media postsUpdating all the spreadsheets for materials, pricing, product tracking, etc.— perhaps not the most interesting tasks to discuss but still important 🙂 lolRedid the SKU system, as the full product list is pretty extensive now!
Speaking of product pages, I may or may not be having some fun with them… and I may or may not love that I’m calling the sticky notes “Study Buddies” lol
Quick sneak peek for you! ^^I’d been pushing back this next drop all year, in order to prioritize the webtoon. But upon realizing we’re halfway through the year, I finally put my foot down and decided it’s time. By delaying the drop over these past months, I’d given myself the time to create more art and order more products that can be included in it. Five new prints, four new product types, and many new designs for stickers and bookmarks are on their way! The majority of the designs and products from the last year’s drops shall make a return as well.I’ll make a separate post here and a few posts on my socials to showcase the new stuff in these coming weeks.Shop Re-Opening
After the next drop, there will be a month-long break to focus on the webtoon and restock on materials. But after that, the shop shall re-open… and stay open! This is a decision I’ve considered for a long time now, and I’m excited to finally make it.The shop will re-open on August 15 🙂Fun Side Projects
I do my best to stay focused on the comic as often as possible, as my bandwidth to work on art is fairly limited these days. But over the years, I've gotten better at clocking when a possible burnout is on the horizon, and I've realized that taking occasional breaks from the main story to create non-comic art is both healthy and even productive in its own way.Most of my side projects were making reels and conversational posts for my Instagram (CapCut is my guilty pleasure, what can I say lol). I've posted two so far and have a handful scheduled to drop in June, and I'm actually a bit excited about that, as I haven't had the most consistent posting schedule this year.In addition, here’s a portrait I shared of Cane. And here’s a quick sketch I did of Koji while I was on vacation (with the help of Cinnamoroll!). This is my first time I've drawn him traditionally in a loooong, long time!
And finally, here are some Star Wars chibis I doodled for May 4th! Isa would not be a part of the Jedi Order, but she would likely forge a great friendship with Padawans Koji and Cane 😂 Meanwhile, N2 remains bad bois in every universe! View on Instagram (last slides!)
