december 2025 updates: end of year shop sale, christmas illustrations, phrase 3 progress, etc.
Happy January! And Happy New Year! I’ve got another blog post going over 2026 goals, so this post is just an overview of December 2025’s work. Last month’s main milestones were…
End of Year Sale
Color illustrations
Bulgogi Punks Phrase 3 Progress
Website renovations
End of Year Art Sale!
In last month’s blog post, I mentioned I’d share more about the EOY sale since it actually went through the first week of December. Overall it was a success! I had two Mail Days: 1 for smaller orders that could be mailed as letters and 1 for larger orders that had to be mailed as packages. I unfortunately only took a photo of one envelope 😂 But I did record the packing of one of the larger international orders. You can view that as an Instagram reel here!
I also created this fun slideshow of how to use the Junior Punks sticky notes. You can view it on Instagram too.
One of my coworkers got a kick out of the Jira reminder :)
More packing reels and social media posts like the above will be shared this month. This past month had been so busy with personal life stuff and my other art, that I decided it was best to put shop advertising on hold for a bit. I don’t like my social media throughput to lean too heavily toward just shop stuff or just art stuff (although the latter tends to be the case lol), so more shop talk is slated for the beginning of January.
I don’t know who reads these blog posts (or if anyone actually does :p), but if you’re here, as always, I thank you for supporting this creative project of mine!
Bulgogi Punks 1 Year Anniversary!
View on Instagram. I always love drawing these two 🥹 There is no version of this story that doesn’t start with them!
I wrote out a whole “statement” on IG, and I’d love for anyone who’s interested to read it, but I want to reiterate a part of it here: The vast majority of readers have been following my journey and this project’s journey since before the comic actually started. That has made for an interesting and fun community, where the comic is the “purest” way to engage with the story, but the color illustrations, memes, and general yapping are still valid and even integral experiences as well. I love that I’ve built that with people, many of which are fellow artists. And I love that I’m a part of many creative communities in the same way.
It’s really changed my perspective on what it means to create a story and what it means to engage with one. And I think that change has been for the better.
As I’ve discussed in previous blog posts, I will still be shifting to focus on the comic more intentionally and nearly exclusively moving forward. But as for what my experience has been with Punks, I embrace it for all that it’s been so far! 💖
Isa and Nao as Elves
View on Instagram. Do you think he knew she meant Christmas elves and purposefully messed up, or do you think he’s just that much of a LOTR fan? Either way, those movies are Christmas movies, so it works 😃
Nell and Parols for Christmas
View on Instagram. In this artwork, Nell is building a parol, a type of Christmas lantern from the Philippines. I created this for a holiday-themed art contest hosted by a friend. I’m very honored to have gotten first place!
Phrase 3 Progress
Most progress was at the start and end of the month, as the three color illustrations took my attention during the middle… It was just in the last blog post that I discussed making creative sacrifices, and cutting back on color illustrations was literally one of them, wasn’t it? 😜
LOL for what it’s worth, the 1-Year Anniversary was an artwork that I always knew I’d create once we got to this point in time; one of the Christmas artworks was for a community-building event that I’d said yes to, before I had decided there was a need for a workflow shift; and finally, in truth, with how hectic the holiday season can be, I needed a lower-energy creative outlet. My less complex color artworks fit that bill, in a way my comic artworks do not.
All that said, I wrapped up another sequence last month for PH3, and I’ve made a major change to the release schedule! Here is the change: Phrase 3 is the equivalent of 4 episodes on the Webtoon Canvas platform. I was originally going to publish all 4 parts at once, but I’ve decided to publish the first 2 parts at one point in time, and the next two parts at a future date (most likely a month later). The reasons for this change are:
So readers don’t need to wait much longer to read something from the next Phrase.
For anyone who’ll be reading the updates as they drop in real-time, the end of Part 1 is a good place to take a breather before reading Part 2… And trust me, the breather will be needed 😈
In addition to the panel work itself, I also started putting together the official announcement post for Part 1! I’ll end this section with a WIP of a panel I’ve already shared but then received feedback on. I just think it looks cool:
Website Renovations
In the final week of December, I gave this website a little makeover :) Some of the changes include:
New front page for the blog! At the top, I added a banner for navigating through different blog post topics. Up to this point, I’ve only used this blog for sharing monthly updates, but I intend to use it for resource sharing and other discussions in the new year.
Improved look across all pages. Check it out for yourself :)
Drafted a convention portfolio page. It’s currently private and still a WIP, but it’s coming along nicely. One of my goals for 2026 is to do in-person sales and Artist Alleys, so I wanted to have a portfolio page to showcase my physical products. I felt it would be best to have an actual page, as opposed to just sharing my social media and shop as they are in my applications.
Not this website, but my Carrd got a slight upgrade too! It matches this website better now.
Looking ahead…
Goals for January include:
Phrase 3 work!
2026 Lunar New Year illustration!
See you in the next update!
